Newcastle RNLI assists broken down leisure craft
Newcastles inshore lifeboat “Eliza” was paged by Belfast Coastguard at 1.52pm today (17 sept) to go to the aid of a drifting vessel 4 miles east of Newcastle.
The lifeboat made best speed towards the vessel near Dundrum bar mouth, once on scene it was discovered the vessel with one person on board had suffered complete power failure and had no means of contacting the coastguard.
A tow was established and the crew proceeded toDundrum quay were the vessel was safely moored.
Details and some safety advice was given and the Inshore lifeboat was stood down and back on station for 3.30pm
